The Stanley Cup champion Blackhawks come to Wrigley.

The scene at Wrigley Field was one of the most memorable in Chicago sports history Sunday. For one touching moment, everyone was a fan of the Chicago Blackhawks. Jonathan Toews carried the silver trophy into the ballpark from the right field corner, hoisting it over his head as the song “Chelsea Dagger” played. He passed it off to his teammates as they paraded around Wrigley, beginning in front of the bleachers to the roaring 40,000 fans.

Even Lou Piniella lifted the Cup, although he had some help from the Hawks’ Coach Q.

“It was heavy,” Piniella said.

For one touching moment, everyone was a fan of the Chicago Blackhawks. It was the most exciting game I’ve been to! There was a lot of emotion going on that’s for sure and the energy there was amazing!!

“It’s really unbelievable to be a part of,” said Patrick Kane, who scored the Cup-clinching overtime goal Wednesday night to make this days-long party possible

In a show of great sportsmanship — and a great photo opportunity — the Cubs, White Sox and Blackhawks all gathered around the mound for a celebratory photo.

cubs2.jpgJim Cornelison, who sings the national anthem at the United Center, only to be drowned out by the crowd’s cheers, did the honors at Wrigley Field. The rowdy crowd responded, applauding and yelling.

It was pretty amazing to see.

Great week-end!
